  • A CHILD'S FAITH BEGINS AT HOME. Incarnation’s Religious Education program assists parents with the sacred responsibility to educate their children in the Catholic faith. Our religious education team is dedicated to being a partner in your family’s faith formation and to sharing the Gospel message of Jesus with all the children and families of our parish.

Catechesis is a word given to the totality of the Church's efforts to make disciples, to help people believe that Jesus is the Son of God so that in believing they might have life in his name, and to educate and instruct them in this life. In this way, the Church is built up in every generation. Parents are the first and primary catechists (teachers of the faith) for their children. Through example and instruction, they show them the value and beauty of a faith lived as part of our daily lives.

Our Parish Program is designed to assists the parents who, at the baptism of their child, took the first steps in their family's faith journey. The Church promised at that same baptism to foster an environment of faith in its worship and parish community life. That is the purpose and goal of our program - to assist parents in an active catechetical process to nurture and sustain the Catholic faith in our parish family.

  • Faith Formation for Children and Families

All Religious Education in-person classes will be limited to small groups of 10 and held at our community center building on Sunday mornings twice a month.

Kinder students will be using the FINDING God text from Loyola Press. Jesus famously told his disciples not to hinder future disciples— the "little children" — from coming to him. This compelling program honors the spirituality of little children and their ability to learn complex concepts when presented in ways that are friendly and proven to work with this age. With active-learning opportunities on every page of the program, children are always engaged and fully immersed in the rich content of their faith.

PLEASE NOTE: This year of formation is not part of the two-year Sacramental Preparation as stated in the guidelines from the Archdiocese.

New students from grades 1-5 in their first year of sacrament preparation will use SEEK FOR CHILDREN, a VBS-style experience designed for children in their first year of sacramental preparation. Through songs, activities, and video teachings, children will get to know a God who is love and be given a shared vocabulary to begin conversations of faith with their parents.

Families will also use SOURCE & SUMMIT, a weekly reflection on the Sunday Scriptures writen BY families FOR families. We join together in an adventure of faith as we journey through the liturgical year. Through the various liturgical seasons, the Church shepherds us admist the ever-changing world and seasons of our lives. Each reflection follows the same 4 moments: Listen, Share, Engage, and Act. Through stories, activities, reflection questions, short teachings, action steps, and prayer, families will be encouraged and given resources with weekly content to help foster intentional faith conversations at home. Registration will include the Catholic Children's Bible for students and families to use at home and class.

Students preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion will use MEND, a first Reconciliation family experience designed to equip parents to teach, share faith, and pray with their children as they lead 7 family meetings in their home through a variety of hands-on and innovative activities. Families will encounter Jesus and experience the beauty of Reconciliation as it connects to daily life by forming clay, making field goals, reading Scripture, engaging in meaningful conversation, and much more. Families will dive deeper into the incredible gift God gives us - Reconciliation.

NOURISH is a First Communion family experience designed to equip parents to teach, share faith, and pray with their children as they lead 10 family meetings in their home through a variety of hands-on and innovative activities. Families will encounter Jesus and experience the beauty of the Mass as it connects to daily life by building puzzles, baking, reading Scripture, engaging in meaningful conversation, and much more. Traditional classroom learning will be enhanced by parent participation as faith transitions from the classroom to the living room. Families will dive deeper into the incredible gift God gives us - the Eucharist.

  • On-Going Faith Formation

Incarnation Parish prides itself with a large response from our families with on-going faith formation!

Our On-Going Faith Formation Program is offered for those who have received their First Holy Communion but are not yet of age to begin their Confirmation preparations. Our goal is to continue and build upon past formation for First Holy Communion.

This is an opportunity to grow deeper in their understanding of the faith and discover its rich tradition and heritage.

ROOT is a foundational catechetical experience focusing on the Creed for children and parents, with age appropriate content for each. Over the course of 6 self-led mini-series and 6 family meetings, families will grow into a deeper understanding of our faith as they are led through the contents of the first part of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Families will also use SOURCE & SUMMIT. A weekly reflection on the Sunday Scriptures written by families, for families. We join together in an adventure of faith as we journey through the liturgical year. Through the various liturgical seasons, the Church shepherds us amidst the ever-changing world and seasons of our lives. Each reflection follows the same 4 movements: Listen, Share, Engage, and Act. Through stories, activities, reflection questions, short teachings, action steps, and prayer, families will be encouraged and resources with weekly content to help foster intentional faith conversations at home. Registration will include the Catholic Children's Bible for students and families to use at home and for class.

    Our program models:

    • Currently our plan to is offer in-person classes in  small groups of 10 or less.
    • We will use our hybrid model of both in-person and at-home formation
    • All programs will be  available in an at-home and complete  virtual model (via ZOOM)
    • Additional support for all families with our Family Sunday events (both virtual and in person) where families gather to learn about our liturgical seasons and events and much more and create a family craft together.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of public health concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and in our effort to stay in compliance with state, local, and archdiocesan guidelines, we will gather in person following all guidelines. In the event that we cannot meet in person, formation will continue with virtual meetings via ZOOM. Some formation will continue in your homes as we will provide you with all needed supplies and support.
