"The sacrament of Matrimony signifies the union of Christ and the Church. It gives spouses the grace to love each other with the love with which Christ has loved his Church; the grace of the sacrament thus perfects the human love of the spouses, strengthens their indissoluble unity, and sanctifies them on the way to eternal life." (CCC 1661)
The first step in preparing for a wedding is to contact the parish office to set up a meeting with a member of the clergy. This must be done at least six months in advance in order to set the date and time for the wedding. At your first meeting with the priest or deacon, you will receive a copy of our Marriage Guidelines and they will review the marriage preparation process with you.
As part of the preparation process for marriage, you will need a new copy of your Baptismal certificate, register as parishioners, and attend an Engaged Encounter weekend. The priest or deacon will give you more information about this program when you meet with him. Please note that all music for your wedding needs to be arranged through the parish music director.
