We have been given the green light to re-open the church building, with COVID-19 safety protocols. Opening the church, however, is not as simple as just opening the doors and letting people inside. We have to prepare the worship space, train volunteers, make sure everything is prepared for safety. We will still have outdoor Masses and drive-in Masses even when the church building reopens on the weekend of January 16-17 . We will provide parishioners with a choice to attend a Mass where they feel most comfortable. Click the headline above for more details.
In consultation with our parish staff and leaders, we will continue our Christmas services as we planned them to be. We will wait for the reopening of indoor services until the church building is made safe and ready. Remember that our primary intention and objective is the health and safety of every person, especially at this time when ICU beds in hospitals all over Southern California are filled to capacity. Fr. Rodel and Hieu are finishing the required 10-day quarantine on December 23, 2020, after being exposed to someone with COVID-19. Both Fr. Rodel and Hieu tested negative twice and show no symptoms. They both will resume their parish duties after following all CDC and LA County quarantine and safety guidelines.
In previous years, Incarnation successfully performed one of the corporal acts of mercy by donating over $2500 to the Santa Chiara Children's Center for the care and feeding of children living in the surrounding slums of Port-au-Prince, Hiati. We are again planning on the "Giving Tree" fundraiser this year. Click the headline above to learn more about the work done at Santa Chiara.
